Emma McAdam is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the creator of Therapy in a Nutshell, a YouTube channel with nearly two million subscribers learning practical mental health skills. Since 2004, she's worked across settings from wilderness therapy to eating disorder treatment—and since 2017, she's been making complex therapeutic concepts feel accessible, actionable, and refreshingly free of jargon on YouTube.
Emma takes a solution-centered approach, drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Family Systems Theory to help people understand the science behind their emotions—and more importantly, what to actually do when those emotions hit hard and fast. Her work resonates deeply with neurodivergent audiences who often experience emotions at higher intensity.
At NeuroDiversion, Emma brought her signature clarity to one of the biggest struggles in the neurodivergent experience: emotional regulation. Her talk tackled the gap between feeling everything at full volume and having the tools to manage it—offering real strategies for brains that run hot.

Join us at our next NeuroDiversion gathering to hear from amazing speakers, connect with the community, and celebrate neurodiversity.
