About Cas

Cassandra "Cas" Aarssen is the self-proclaimed "recovering super slob" behind Clutterbug β€” a home organizing philosophy and business that has helped over a million families around the world stop fighting their clutter and start working with it. As someone who lived with undiagnosed ADHD for decades, Cas knows firsthand what it feels like when every organizing system you try just... doesn't stick.

After years of struggling, Cas made a discovery that changed everything: organization isn't one size fits all. She identified four unique organizing styles β€” the Bee, the Butterfly, the Cricket, and the Ladybug β€” and developed the Clutterbug Methodβ„’ to help people find the approach that actually matches the way their brain works. The core idea is simple and radical at the same time: you're not messy. You just organize differently.

Cas is the host of HGTV's Hot Mess House and the author of four bestselling books: Real Life Organizing, Cluttered Mess to Organized Success, The Clutter Connection, and The Declutter Challenge. Her YouTube channel has grown to over 1.2 million subscribers, and her work has been featured on OWN, NBC, CBC, Popular Science, and more. At NeuroDiversion, she brought her signature warmth and humor to talk about how neurodivergent brains can stop feeling broken and start building systems that actually last.

Highlights from the Talk

"You're not messy. You just organize differently. And once you figure out how your brain actually works, everything clicks."

β€” Cassandra Aarssen

"The organizing industry has been selling us one way to do things for decades. But neurodivergent brains don't work that way β€” and that's not a flaw, it's just a different operating system."

β€” Cassandra Aarssen

"I spent years thinking I was broken because I couldn't keep my house clean. It wasn't until I stopped trying to organize the way everyone else does that I finally found a system that stuck."

β€” Cassandra Aarssen
